If you ever go to Vancouver, BC, you really need to pay this urban park a visit. It's a Pacific northwestern rain forest jimmied right between the water's edge and the urban sprawl of the downtown city.
Named after Lord Stanley (he of the hockey cup fame), it is over 1000 acres of pristine beauty.

YUP | 1 Wrapped
Wrapped is an art film that shows what happens when you don't clean up the streets. Don't let that description stop you, because this is beautiful. Directed by Roman Kaelin, Florian Wittmann, and Falko Paeper, it is an award-winning graduation film from Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg. They say it is an illustration of "the clash between civilization and nature," but we know they are showing off their animation skills, and accomplished that aim well.

I’m no stranger to dangerous situations when I travel. Now I can add fleeing to escape a flash flood to my list of terrifying travel adventures. My five friends and I learned firsthand that flash flooding in Maui streams is a very serious danger.

A mountain has been officially downgraded to a hill - after missing out on the title by just 23 millimetres. Surveyors ruled that Moelwyn Mawr in the Snowdonia range is no longer a mountain after it failed to measure up to the guidelines set out for summits.

Boston's received a historic pile of snow this winter, putting residents in a tough place. But Weather Channel meteorologist Jim Cantore isn't concerned with any of that. Instead, he's basking in the glow of thundersnow. And he's really excited about it.

The storm is just hours away, and it looks like most think the Big Easy is done for. I remember it as an incredibly cool place, been there a few times growing up, never anywhere but the Quarter except getting in and out of town. It was another world, a pocket of slow time that defied its' saner surroundings. A place of incredible color and flavor, both visibly and in its personality.

I've always wanted to take the family. I hope it makes it through the night.
