Lemmy, the grizzled perpetual badass who fronts metal icons Motorhead, has seen healthier days. He also suffers from diabetes, but he's found an interesting way to combat the illness; instead of his usual Jack Daniels and coke, Lemmy has switched to vodka and orange juice in order to stay healthy.
Using this app, you can hover over a country and find out which country drinks what (in ml per week per person over age 15). You can also find out by clicking on the bottom who drinks what by region and what their favorite drinks are.

Surprisingly, the feds have approved powdered alcohol for general sale, leading not only to just-add-water hooch but complex alcoholic dry ingredients in food recipes. You can even snort it, but they really advise against it.

Not so well-known is that a principal cause of Russia’s embarrassing defeat in the (first?) Crimean War (1853-1856) was the country’s age-old vice: alcohol. From the inebriate and undisciplined peasant conscripts to their inept, corrupt and often even more soused army commanders, the lackluster military that Russia put into the field in Crimea was the unhappy product of the imperial state’s centuries-long promotion of a vodka trade that had become the tsars’ greatest source of revenue.
