"Clerks" filmmaker Kevin Smith says he nearly died of a "massive heart attack" after rushing to a California hospital Sunday night. "The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka 'the Widow-Maker')," Smith tweeted. "If I hadn't canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would've died tonight. But for now, I'm still above ground," he added.

Jay and Silent Bob are coming out of retirement for an animated feature. If you were a fan of the animated Clerks series, this ain't it - but it will have Jason Mewes as Jay and Kevin Smith as Silent Bob (if he in fact says anything in it), although it won't be directed by Smith.

Kevin Smith was asked this over twitter:
You're a smart mother fucker. I lost my job, and have a chance to 'start over'... What the hell should I do?His response, stitched together from a flurry of tweets, is downright inspirational.

There's a scene in Mallrats where Brodie and TC are discussing the viability of Superman poking donuts on Lois Lane - I knew I'd read it somewhere before ever even hearing of Kevin Smith. That's because it was originally an essay by Larry Niven in '71 titled Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex.

I know you've often asked yourself this very question. "Now that Kevin Smith has been married for quite sometime, does he still whack off"? and the answer is yes, yes he does. Then he generally blogs it in his journal. God, I love the interwebs.

Pretty much every day, I come home from work, and turn on the TV, and because the kids left it on whatever kid channel they're always leaving the TV on, Degrassi blares out at me at top volume. It drives me fucking nuts.
Apparently, Kevin Smith adores the show - so much that he has nods to it in every movie he's ever made - and has landed a 3-episode guest shot with Mewes playing, of course, Jay and Silent Bob. I still ain't gonna watch it tho, the kids would never let me live it down.

For months now Kevin Smith has been talking about a small movie that he is going to make before shooting starts on the Green Hornet. Speculation has been running rampant since he announced his untitled movie. Well today, today we finally learned what I was hoping and praying that small project would be. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you...

I know there are a lot of VA/Kevin Smith dorks out there in Davelog land, and I also know it's hard to keep up with all that is Smith. So here ya go.
New Posters! If Dave doesn't have that "SOAR" Poster in his house I'll be very surprised.
West Coast Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash! Can you say road trip just to buy comics? Yes, yes you can.
September 7th is shaping up to be VA Day for DVD Releases. Not only is Clerks the 10th Anniversary Edition, and Jersey Girl streeting that day, but also Rounders: The Collectors Edition featuring VA Alum Matt Damon and very cool box art.
And even though I hate the I Love The... series on VH1 you can capture the Bluntastic Duo Jay and Silent Bob on I Love the 90's. So check it out!
