Reynolds American Inc., which makes Camel cigarettes, will no longer allow smoking in its offices, conference rooms, and elevators beginning next year, the AP reports, because apparently it's bad for you or something.

You can, however, still vape.

...but the birds still do. They use cigarette butts to line their nests because they repel arthropods and other parasites.

More and more Roll Your Own shops are popping up around the country, selling smokers loose tobacco and cigarette tubes while giving them access to industrial rolling machines. The upshot is that you can put together a pack for pennies on the dollar if you roll them yourself, thanks to loopholes that tax cigarette tobacco differently than loose tobacco.

Unfortunately, the cities are starting to catch on and are closing the loopholes.

After 3 1/2 hours of debate Wednesday, Campbell County Fiscal Court voted 3-1 to snuff out the proposed countywide smoking ban that would have prohibited smoking inside bars, restaurants and other businesses that welcome the public.

Good to know there are still sane places in America, even if they're few and far between.

You know who owns a shitload of stock in big tobacco? Health insurance companies. If you totally disregard the blatant conflict of interest, that's quite a win/win situation they've got there.
