November last year, Lynch was fined $100,000 for failing to show at a media event. He was warned that if he didn't make it to the Super Bowl press conference that he would be fined $500,000. For almost five minutes he took questions from behind the podium and responded with the same answer to every question.

So here are the playoff teams and a few others thrown in for good measure. What were the players, coaches, and referees really saying on camera?

Play was stopped at an Australian darts competition when rioting fans in fancy dress brawled and threw chairs. Images show a man dressed as Batman's sidekick Robin wrestling with an English knight, while security guards try to calm the situation down.

There are plenty of popular sports that people are either spectator or participant in. These are a few that appear off the radar for most.

In this one minute clip, we find out that the Mighty Mites aren't so mighty because they couldn't even make it through their banner break.

In a very moving act of charity, the New Orleans Saints coach buys 100 jerseys of Cincinnati DT Devon Still. 100% of the proceeds go to charity to battle pediatric cancer, as Still's four year old suffers from the dreaded disease.

I used to watch Giants games just to see Tuck's facemask, which I considered to be the most intricate and laughably excessive. This imgur album shows that Darnell Dockett's got Tuck beat hands down, even though this pic says otherwise.

My favorite event in the Winter Olympics is curling. I watch as much of it as I can when available and discuss strategies and techniques with my pals. You could say I'm a fan.

For as much as I love the sport though, I've never given much thought to the playfield surface, just assuming it was your run-of-the-mill hockey rink ice underfoot. That turns out to be very not so, evidenced by this cool Smithsonian article on pebbling.

Is the Stupid Bowl boring this year? Watch a seriously good game here. The AFC Divisional Playoffs 1977. Played in a real barn (Memorial Stadium was a horrible place to watch anything). On brown dirt that was painted green. Two great coaches, Ted Marchibroda and John Madden. Two great quarterbacks, Bert Jones and Ken Stabler. This was one of the most amazing football games I had ever seen.

AV Club's Block and Tackle previews the upcoming weekend in football, including a dissertation of the Super Bowl's cultural impact, a fashion critique of SB rings past, complete coverage of the Tecmo Super Bowl, an appearance by Nipsey The Football-Game-Picking Cat, and much much more.

The NFL is indeed the No Fun League. Halftime is twice as long at the Stupid Bowl. Let's really let minds rot.

Hey, there's no professional football this weekend (the Pro Bowl does not count, never really did, now is complete garbage). Love the clip.

Less than two weeks to a snow bowl at Met Life Stadium in beautiful East Rutherford, NJ. Hey, what if it snows? Perhaps a repeat performance of Frank Olivo becoming a Philadelphia legend when he played Santa Claus at an Eagles game in 1968. As he walked across the field, the fans pelted him with snowballs.

In 1973, Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King squared off to settle once and for all if women could compete with men physically... and Riggs took a dive to cover his gambling debts.

Over time, Sportvision introduced many new technologies. Some, such as the ESPN K Zone and the NASCAR tracking system, were very well received. But none ever rivaled the universal enthusiasm that greeted the yellow line.
