A girl from the Georgia mountains grows up with Dolly's music as her personal soundtrack, and ultimately gets a moment with her idol over the intarwebs. A surprisingly heartwarming tale of growth and awareness from the backwoods.

Though it sounds like a Zen riddle, it's actually a touching story of Neill Duncan, a musician from Australia who lost an arm to cancer. Fortunately, a modified instrument allows him to play the saxophone with only one hand.

This is epic. 1000 musicians cover the classic by the late David Bowie.

If you're anything like me, you love you some Waffle House - not just for the outstanding food and warm service, but also because of the jukebox loaded up with official Waffle House songs that the staff detests with every fiber of their being.

That music catalog has grown, and the new tune is by none other than Stephen Colbert and Sturgill Simpson.

Happy early Fourth of July. I present to you several rock bands and their renditions of our national anthem.
Metallica at AT&T Park, Boston at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, and of course Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock.

You really liked that song. You thought it was by a more famous artist. You were wrong. I bet at least one on this list fits that description for you.

The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir will hit Netflix on May 22 and now, the official trailer has arrived (last year, actually). The Mike Fleiss-directed documentary traces Weir's life journey from Palo Alto, CA to rising to stardom with the Grateful Dead as a 16-year old, all with commentary from the guitarist himself along the way.

Lemmy's being buried on Saturday, and his funeral will be streamed live on the youtubes. Join me there tomorrow at 4pm Phoenix time as I raise a rare glass to a rare man. If you're so inclined, you can also sign this petition at to help get one of the newly-discovered heavy metals being added to the periodic table named after him.

In a new interview with Drumhead Magazine, Peart spoke frankly about his coming to terms with retirement. "...Lately Olivia has been introducing me to new friends at school as 'My dad - He's a retired drummer.' True to say - funny to hear. And it does not pain me to realize that, like all athletes, there comes a time to... take yourself out of the game.

Between the Professor's tendinitis and Lifeson's arthritis, RUSH is surely done. RIP.
